L & T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited said in a statement that Metro rail operations have been started between Nagaland from Miyapur. 24 stations have been built in a 30-kilometer long route.

Telangana Information Technology Minister Keti Rama Rao said that all the trains will have three coaches in the beginning and 330 people can travel in each box. In view of the number of passengers, the number of coaches will be increased to six. He said that Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will also start feeder services for the Metro.
Smart cards were offered to Metro Rail passengers on Saturday. The minister said that the state government has started efforts for the second phase of Metro. When asked about the timelines for the completion of the entire project, he said that it should be done within a year.
