Parrikar’s funeral will be held at Panaji in the evening at 5 o’clock

The last rites of the last Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar, will be held in Panjim’s Miramar on Monday, 5 pm with full state honors. In the honor of Parrikar, the Government of Goa has declared a seven-day state mourning and national mourning on Monday. Significantly, Parrikar was also Defense Minister of the country from 2014-2017.

The first IIT graduate to become Chief Minister was Manohar Parrikar

Goa’s late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was the first IIT graduate to be the Chief Minister of any Indian state. Parrikar, who was Chief Minister of Goa three times, was also Minister of Defense from November 2014 to March 2017. Born in Mapusa, Goa in 1955, Parrikar graduated from IIT Mumbai in 1978 in Metallurgical Engineering.

He was a true patriot and extraordinary administrator who all liked. His immaculate service to the country will be remembered for many generations.

She wrote,

He was sick for a long time, even though the mind was not prepared … that he would leave us so soon.

President Ramnath Kovind tweeted on Sunday on the death of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar,

Manohar Parrikar is not sad to hear that he is not there. He was a symbol of honesty and dedication in public life and his service to Goa and the people of the country will not be forgotten.
