David Malpas will be the World Bank’s new president and will replace Jim Yong Kim

The 25-member World Executive Board of the World Bank has unanimously decided to appoint David Malpas (63) as the next President.

David is an under-secretary of international affairs in the US Ministry of Finance and was also an advisor to Donald Trump during the presidential election in 2016.

Significantly, the name nominated by Trump was the sole contender for this post.
